Dr. Sherill A. Piscopo

Apostolic Overseer & Founding Pastor

Dr. Piscopo, alongside her late husband Pastor Jerry, founded Evangel Christian Churches (ECC) in 1987, growing it from a small home fellowship into an influential global network spanning over 700 churches and ministries today through the Evangel Association of Churches and Ministries. An accomplished dancer, choreographer and graduate of Wayne State, Dr. Sherill also founded Destiny School of Ministry Bible University, serving as President of Destiny Christian University in Florida. Her creative pastoral ministry focused on inner healing catalyzes restoration across the world as a pastor and spiritual advisor to leaders far and wide.

Dr. Michael Hines

Lead Pastor

Called to preach God’s word at just age 14 while attending Detroit's Denby High School, Dr. Hines gained real-life ministry experience early by actively serving at multiple churches during his youth. He studied engineering and machine work before finally surrendering to God’s call into full-time pastoral leadership of ECC in 2023 - bringing over 20 years of hands-on ministry experience under founding pastors Drs. Jerry and Sherill Piscopo in various roles. Graduating with advanced theology degrees, Dr. Michael developed a genuine shepherd’s heart for nurturing authentic faith community marked by God’s transforming love.

Genna Hines

Lead Pastor

From directing youth small groups to leading initiatives for giants like Goldman Sachs, Genna’s passion has always been cultivating human connection to empower lives. A graduate with both a bachelor's and master's degree from Oakland University, she has the academic foundation to match her extensive professional experience. Her decade in ECC’s youth ministry bred in her a heart to see young people transformed by Jesus firsthand. Now as Lead Pastor overseeing operations, Genna combines skills for large-scale influence with a love for individual lives changed. Alongside her husband, she leads ECC into the future through authentic compassion that shaped her from a young age.
