Mission & Beliefs

Mission Statement

We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples.

Our Values

Gospel

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And faith in Jesus is our only means of salvation. The Gospel is the greatest demonstration of God's love for humanity.

Family

We value family because we believe in the restoration of the family unit. Family is so important because Jesus revealed God as Father and us as sons and daughters. Healthy family structure builds a healthy church. We believe that the whole family unit should be ministered to.

Community

ECC community means building relationship amongst Life Groups and reaching out and impacting our local community. Community is our sense of belonging and ensures that we do not do this life alone.

Worship

We value worship because God is worthy of our worship. Because we were created for relationship with God. We worship because it changes us from the inside out.

Equipping

We prepare believers of every maturity level to join God's Kingdom work! Through Bible study and skills training, we champion Christ's message of hope - near and far. No matter where you are starting out, growth awaits. Step forward boldly!

Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

The Bible:

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, the infallible authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The Trinity:

We believe our God is the one true God – the self-existent “I Am,” manifested in three persons, the Trinity – God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are co-eternal and co-equal. Jesus Christ is the “Word” made flesh, existing eternally with the Father.

The Person of Jesus:

We believe Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, both fully God and fully man. Jesus was baptized in the Holy Spirit and ministered in the Spirit’s power. We believe in Christ’s crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension; that He obtained redemption for our sins by living a sinless life. Jesus is both Lord and Christ.

Humanity, Sin and Redemption:

We believe people are a created being, made in the likeness and image of God; but, through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world, and people received a sin nature. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” As it is written, “There is none righteous, no not one.”  Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God.

New Birth and Eternal Life:

We believe one’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. A person’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all; and when fulfilled, produces eternal life. It is through faith toward Jesus Christ, repentance toward God and His grace that eternal life is obtained.

Water Baptism:

We believe baptism in water is by immersion for the circumcision of heart as a direct commandment of the Lord and is for believers only. This act is the Christian’s identification into Christ Jesus; His death, burial, and resurrection for the destruction -- rendering inoperative -- the body of sin, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit:

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire is a gift from God, as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ, to all believers in this dispensation, and is received subsequent to the “New Birth.” This experience is accompanied by the consequence, sign, result and/or evidence of speaking in “other tongues” as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.

Sanctification:

We believe the Bible teaches that without holiness no person can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite or positional, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing on through the believer's life and walk.

Covenant Life:

We believe that God is the covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. Through covenant, God binds Himself to His people and His people to Himself. God has extended covenant to us in Jesus Christ. This covenant encompasses all His promises, which makes available to us the inherited riches belonging to Christ, and His demands, which are to be faithfully met. Entering into God’s covenant involves entering into covenant with God’s people. The primary demand of the covenant is that the people of the covenant love one another. This is the command of the Lord Jesus. Loving one another involves learning to serve, admonish, and support, in brotherly fashion, those to whom one is bound by God’s covenant. Practically, this is experienced in relationship to those who are closest at hand.

Communion:

We believe the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements - bread and the fruit of the vine - is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ; a memorial of His suffering and death; and a prophecy of His coming; and is enjoined on all believers “till He come!”

Divine Healing:

We believe that healing is for the ills of the human body and soul (physical, emotional). Healing is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and/or by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every member of the church today. Included in the atonement was every member’s freedom from strongholds, yokes, bondages, oppression, demons, and vexation of evil spirits.

Resurrection of the Just and Jesus’ Return:

The angels said, “This same Jesus shall so come in like manner.” His coming is imminent. When He comes,” ...the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air...”  The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church.

Hell and Eternal Judgement:

The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel of repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting,” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God. There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the “Book of Life,” together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

The Ministry:

A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in: Evangelization of the world, worship of God, and building a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
